¡Qué grande es New York!

Hace justo una semana estaba pegado al ordenador, dándole a refrescar la web constantemente, a ver cómo les iba a las SuperEntrenadas que correteaban por La Gran Manzana.

Seguir una carrera online tiene un punto estresante, sólo ves tiempos de paso y ritmos,. Por mi cabeza pasan cientos de conjeturas… “ha empezado fuerte, ¿será capaz de aguantar?” o “va más lento de lo planificado, ¿no se estará encontrando bien? ¿habría mucho tráfico en la salida? ¿habrá cambiado de táctica a última hora?”

New York City Marathon es el evento por excelencia del running a nivel mundial. Allí se dan cita algunos de los mejores maratonianos del momento y muchísimas otras personas, con objetivos muy dispares, dispuestos a disfrutar de esta gran fiesta.

En nuestro grupo hubo de todo, alegrías, llantos, risas… Todas supieron sufrir y todas consiguieron la preciada medalla, con forma de manzana, que sabe a gloria.

Una semana más tarde, aún estamos asimilando lo que significa correr una grande, donde es difícil batir tu marca y en ocasiones debes “conformarte” con vivir la gran fiesta del maratón.

Me quedo con una frase de una de las guerreras: “ha sido más duro el entrenamiento que la maratón en sí”. Efectivamente, eso es entrenar bien: Darlo todo cada día para poder disfrutar al máximo de cada metro de carrera.
